Whitney Field

Picture
Whitney Field was born into a curling family on May 29, 1987. She started curling competitively when she was twelve. She was most successful in the 2003-2004 curling season by attending the Alberta Winter Games and the Optimist Juvenile Provincials. She, along with her team secured a place in the Lloydminster Super League, a first for a junior team.

Whitney had a calm demeanor on and off the ice. She knew how to lift her team’s spirits when a game wasn't going their way. Whitney was a true competitor. She wanted to do whatever it took to win. Her goals and dreams were to compete at the Scott Tournament of Hearts, Ford Worlds and the Olympics.

Tragically, Whitney lost her life in a motor vehicle collision on September 28, 2004.

In honor of her and her competitive spirit we have started the Whitney Field Junior Curling Classic.
